Their multi-speed vibrators are made from a starch-based biodegradable plastic called BioFeel. It’s recyclable, and can even be composted! Even better, Biofeel produces fewer greenhouse gases in production than your average single-use plastic bottle (and you’re certainly going to use this more than once!) *and* uses less energy to produce than traditional plastic.

When I started looking at stock for Higher Desire, I wasn’t planning on stocking vibrators because they’re often cheaply produced, and made from plastic. One of my suppliers suggested Gaia’s range, and I decided to reconsider, because Gaia reckon they’ve made the world’s first biodegradable, recyclable vibrators.
Size: 17.75cm (7″) total length, 14.6cm (5.75″) insertable length and 8.9cm (3.5″) girth at widest point.
Takes 2 x AA battery (not included). Please dispose of batteries responsibly.
Clean with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Please don’t use alcohol wipes or solvent based cleaners.
Body-safe, traditional style
Gaia’s toys are phthalate-free (they don’t smell all chemically, like some cheaper plastic toys can), are obviously body-safe, and splashproof. The starch-based plastic is a satin finish, and the toys are solidly built. The traditional shaped vibe is multi speed with a twist control near the base.
In the interests of openness, they *are* made in China, so there are the extra miles to offset, but weighed up against their otherwise top-notch green credentials I felt this was acceptable. The cardboard carton is made from recycled paper – an added eco-bonus.
